broughty ferry"The Broughty Ferry leg of the Scottish Beach Volleyball Tour takes place Saturday, August 9, and I expect you all to be there.

Entries, using the entry form here: Beach Entry Form must be with the SVA by close of play on Wednesday.

Directions to Broughty Beach are here: map

The long term weather forecast is good. It hardly ever rains here on the balmy east coast, so break out the shorts and suntan lotion. See you all on the sand. Jack"

ST ANDREWS BEACH VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Last weekend, the 28th/29th of June, the 2nd stage of the Scottish Beach Volleyball Tour was held on the famous West Sands Beach, St Andrews. Red Bull again supported Scottish Beach Volleyball and their Red Bull wig wam surrounded by 12 fluorescent Sportset beach courts and 1 international standard Schelde beach court made a stunning contrast with the adjacent Royal and Ancient Golf Club and the iconic 18th hole.

Beach Volleyball comes to the banks of the Clyde

beach volleyballThe Glasgow River Festival is hosting the Scottish Masters Beach Volleyball Event from 18th – 20th July this year at the SECC. The Festival attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year along the banks of the River Clyde. This year, beach volleyball joins in the festivities, which will be run by Urban Events and Beach Volleyball Scotland (part of the Scottish Volleyball Association)

The event will begin at 3pm on Friday 18th July with beach volleyball coaching for under-16s. This will be followed by the qualifying rounds of a 4-a-side tournament, which will finish Saturday morning. (To take part in either of those events, please use the attached forms).

Top beach players from around the country will then compete in an Elite event beginning at approximately midday on Saturday, with finals on the Sunday afternoon.

The scene is set for some top class beach volleyball, so please come and support or take part in what should be a fantastic weekend!

Qualification route to Scottish Masters Beach Volleyball @ Glasgow River Festival 2008

There will be 4 mens teams and 4 womens teams selected to play at the Scottish Masters Elite Event on 19th & 20th July 2008. We have allocated 2 mens and 2 womens teams from the Scottish Tour and have invited teams from the GB squads and a few others to come and play at the event to fill the other 2 places. If these invitations do not get accepted, then those places will be filled by the next best ranked teams on the Scottish Tour.
